Strength & Endurance

Strength training varies from hypertrophy training in the duration of rest periods, repetitions, and weight loads. Depending on your one rep max, which your Olympian Bodies trainer will help you calculate at the beginning of your program, the intensity of your strength training program will function differently than a typical body building routine. Strength is the ability to produce a maximal contractive force. Thus, resistance to movement that challenges the maximal capabilities of the tissue will yield the greatest adaptation response. Training for maximal strength requires heavy resistance and full recovery between exercise sets.

Endurance Training

The definition of muscular endurance implies that the rate of force decline ultimately determines a muscle's ability to perform prolonged work. Anabolic endurance is affected by several factors, including exposure to long durations of resistive stress, the muscle's strength, neural efficiency, aerobic capacity, and anaerobic energy system efficiency. Muscular strength plays a large role in muscle endurance. The stronger a muscle becomes the less intense sub maximal work is perceived. That's why strength and endurance training must go hand in hand to see optimal results.

Your trainer here at Olympian Bodies will formulate a custom plan to help you achieve your fitness and athletic goals. Factors and concepts such as how glycol tic pathway, aerobic capacity, and lactate removal affect endurance levels will also be discussed. Endurance training uses low-moderate resistance with high repetition ranges, therefore it is a viable option for new exercisers and the elderly. Many women clients prefer the lower resistance because it does not increase mass the way strength and hypertrophy may.

You trainer will help you develop a workout specifically designed to fit your body and goals. To aid in your progress you will be educated on keeping a workout log, proper nutrition, and receive follow up sessions to assure you are achieving your goals.
